These are just some of the issues I’m eager to address while in St. Paul.
Our communities in District 22A face a variety of concerns that I am experienced with, and I am committed to representing our area’s interests effectively at the capitol. Please feel free to Contact Me with any questions, concerns, or other issues you feel need representation in our district.

Pro-Life / Pro-Family

My mother always told me that I would never understand love until I had my own children, and she was absolutely right. Before I had children, I believed them to be of value and in need of protection, but when my little firstborn Sophie was placed into my arms, something inside me changed. I know many of the parents reading this can affirm that when you have children, you have a new and more intense understanding of how precious life is, and your desire to protect not just your own children, but all children magnifies exponentially. As your representative in St. Paul, I am a staunch advocate for all life, born and unborn.

Pro-Second Amendment

As a gun owner myself, I am a staunch advocate and defender of our Constitutionally-guaranteed gun rights in St. Paul.

Education

As an experienced middle school educator, I’m familiar with the challenges encountered in the current education system. Our children and our students are the future of our district; therefore, it is imperative that we have someone representing our district who truly understands the education system. As a conservative, I know that in general, parents know what is best for their children’s education. Who better to influence our education system in a way that provides options to parents without hamstringing our public schools than a conservative teacher?

Agriculture

As a farmer, I, too, have felt the struggles we’ve all felt down here. I actively promote agriculture and advocate for our fellow southern Minnesota farmers and producers at the capitol. Too much regulation in agriculture hinders our farmers and producers, and creates instability. Our economy is driven by agriculture and our district needs a voice in St. Paul who understands and has personally been involved with the various aspects of farming.

Veterans

My family has a long history of service to our nation. I am currently serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, and I’ve been a Commander of a unit as well. In my several years as a Commander, I’ve been responsible for the wellbeing of 150 soldiers. As your representative and as a soldier myself, I will work to promote the welfare of all service members, past and present, in our district. I believe it is only right to fight and advocate for those who have fought and sacrificed much for all of us.

Rural Development

In my role as Mayor of Elmore, MN, I dealt firsthand with the issues that our rural communities and small towns face: issues such as the degradation of our roads and infrastructure, abandoned buildings, and managing wise spending while navigating tax concerns. I am well-versed in balancing city budgets while at the same time fighting the increase of taxes. During my tenure as Mayor, I fought against raising taxes. The year before I became Mayor, the City of Elmore ran a budget deficit of $120,000; my first year as Mayor, we ran a budget surplus of $23,000, and our budget remained balanced until my two terms as Mayor ended. I bring that same fiscal responsibility to St. Paul.

As always, you are welcome to Contact Me with any questions or concerns you have, or issues you feel we are facing in our district.
